First Impressions

Over Thanksgiving dinner, the topic of dating websites came up. The person I was speaking to has never dabbled in them before. He was under the impression that everyone was truthful and putting their best foot forward with their profiles.

Lucky for us, for many years I would screen shot something that I found amusing (in my opinion) on a profile. Well, the day has come where I am going to start sharing these delightful pics. Don't worry, I made them anonymous to protect the innocent.

This is such a small sampling of my library but thought it would help people understand the craziness that is Internet dating.

Now, we are going to start with one that is fairly innocent but begs the question of WHY? This was his first picture on his profile. I guess he is trying to portray that he can manage a cold? I swiped left.

There is a surpising number of guys who think flipping you off is attractive as a first impression. There are countless number of pictures like this over the years and I can't figure out the angle here? Why do guys think this should be one of a handful of pictures to describe yourself? Maybe girls do it too? Who knows? However, it's a no from me.

We are just going to leave this one right here. *witch

Now, this one gets an A for being amusing. I bet I would have swiped right if only he wasn't a smoker. LOL!

Lesson learned? I know there are small businesses where people clean up a dating profile to be sure someone is putting their best foot forward. From my standpoint, that service is underutilized! Perhaps I should have a side hustle? HA!
